As many of you will already know, its not possible to transfer files via Bluetooth to or from an Android phone.

However now you can with a free application called Bluetooth File Transfer made by Medieval Software.

This app enables you to quickly flick through your phone using a simple file manager, and then send the file to another Android phone. The only drawback to this app is that the receiving phone MUST have the application also.

Use your cell phone to browse, explore and manage files of any Bluetooth ready device! Download, upload, explore, create and delete files and folders on your phone, PDA, palm, music player and so on; using an easy and intuitive user-interface. It uses OBEX FTP (File Transfer Profile) + OBEX OPP (Object Push Profile) profiles and does *NOT* require ROOT permissions!

Use The QR COode Below to Download Bluetooth File Transfer From the Market.

busybox

I am currently running CyanogenMod 4.1.9999 and Cyanogen’s Recover image, will be upgrading to ver 4.2 as soon as i get the chance.  After considerable research i rooted my g1 following this tutorial at androidandme.com, took me less than 10 minutes but if i were to do it again im sure it would take no longer than five.

If you find the rooting tutorial hard to follow then i may consider making a video demonstration, alhough i need to get my hands on a unrooted g1.

Ok so lets get on with the show, installing BusyBox on your Android.

  1. Download Busybox from Here –> busybox (25), extract and copy to the root of your sd card
  2. Reboot Your Phone into recovery mode (hold the home button and turn on the pone)
  3. Launch the Console alt+x
  4. So were in the console now issue the following commands

cd data

mkdir busybox

cd ../

Mount sdcard

cd sdcard

cp busybox ../../data/busybox

cd ../../

cd data

cd busybox

busybox –install

reboot

Now your phone should reboot and bingo you have busbox installed.

To use Busy Box i recommend using the terminal emulator. The Terminal Emulator application allows you to pull up the Linux command line on your phone.

Here’s the qr Code for the Terminal Emulator
